Key Responsibilities:

  • System Installation & Setup

    • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

    • Mark reference points and prepare installation sites

    • Drill mounting holes, cut and thread piping, and secure brackets

 

  • Component Assembly & Repair

    • Install and service critical parts including compressors, motors, condensers, and evaporators

    • Fit and repair copper lines for refrigerant, gas, oil, and water systems

    • Connect piping using bolting, soldering, welding, and brazing techniques

    • Verify proper alignment and fit of all components

 

  • Testing & Troubleshooting

    • Charge systems with gas or fluid to detect and fix leaks

    • Test-run refrigeration units, adjust controls, and optimize performance

    • Evacuate test substances using vacuum pumps and recharge with refrigerant

    • Diagnose malfunctions, replace faulty parts, and conduct system overhauls

 

  • Documentation & Compliance

    • Record system issues and corrective actions taken

    • Ensure all work meets safety and operational standards

HVAC Technician

  • Workplace Health & Safety

    • Apply WHS regulations and safe work practices

    • Identify and control electrotechnology work hazards

    • Document risk control measures

     

    System Installation & Commissioning

    • Install and configure refrigerant piping and controls

    • Set up air conditioning and refrigeration systems

    • Establish proper operating conditions for:

      • Air conditioning systems

      • Vapour compression systems

    • Verify system compliance and functionality

     

    Maintenance & Repair

    • Diagnose and fix faults in:

      • Control systems

      • Single/three-phase motors

      • Electrical circuits

    • Service and maintain:

      • Low temperature systems

      • Medium temperature systems

      • Commercial AC units

     

    Electrical Components

    • Fabricate and assemble electrical parts

    • Install and secure electrotechnology equipment

    • Troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems

    • Handle wiring and connections up to 1000V AC/1500V DC

     

    Refrigerant Handling

    • Recover and recharge refrigerants

    • Select appropriate piping and accessories

    • Safely handle refrigerants and lubricants

    • Prepare and connect refrigerant tubing

     

    Technical Documentation

    • Interpret technical drawings and specifications

    • Apply industry codes and standards

    • Document system issues and solutions
